Printing out the CPM Brochure
You may find it easier to print out these instructions
before attempting to print out the brochure. Don't be put off by
the length, go through slowly step by step and for most people it
should be quite straightforward. (Famous last words!)
Click
here to open up a new browser window with the cover of the CPM Brochure
ready to print out.
If a new window does not open up, it may be because you have software
that stops what are known as pop-ups. Try holding down the Control
(CTRL) key when you click on the link. If that does not work then
refer to the software help.
In the new browser window, click on File,
then on Page Setup. Note down
the settings in the boxes marked Header
and Footer. You may want to set
them back to what they were after you have finished printing out
the Heart. Set all the margins
to 5mm, check that A4 paper is selected and the orientation is Landscape,
then click OK. Note that you
may get a message indicating that the margins are outside of the
printable area. Ignore the warning and see what prints out, if there
are bits missing off an edge then you may have to increase the margin(s)
that is affected.
Click on File
again, then on Print Preview.
Check that it will all print on one page; if it doesn't, then you
may need to reduce the margins slightly. Click on either Print,
or on Close.
Click on File again, then on Print.
Check in the Preferences
that colour is selected, select the number of copies you want, and
then finally click Print
Close the browser window with the cover of the brochure, then
Click
here to open up a new browser window with the inside of the CPM
Brochure ready to print out.
Put the paper back in the printer and then go through a similar
process to above to print the inside, this time printing on the
reverse side.
It may take a bit of experimenting to find out
if margins etc are fully compatible with your printer and which
way around to put the paper to print on the reverse side and with
correct orientation. Therefore you might like to print out black
and white copies in draft mode until you are fully sure that it
is all set up correctly.
Close the browser window with the inside of the brochure.
Finally, You may then want to set the Header
and Footer settings back to where they were. (The site help
section has more information on how to do this.)
Note: these instructions as for Internet Explorer 6, printing may
vary with other internet browsers. Refer to the Browser Help if
in doubt.
If you are really stuck, then please email
for help.
Adding Your Contact Details to the Brochure
Don't forget to add your contact details to the brochure. There
are several ways of doing this:
- Write in details by hand
- Print some self-adhesive labels with
your contact details
- Using your word processor, position your contact details on
an otherwise blank sheet and put the pages through the printer
again
- You can edit the HTML file containing the inside page. When
the page is open, go to File
and then Save As and save the
html file onto your hard disk. Close the browser and open the
file on your hard disk. Click on View
then Source and the code behind
the page will open up. Scroll down most of the way to where you
see the following code
and return to:</I></B></FONT></P>
<P> </P>
<P> </P>
<p> </p>
<P> </P>
add your contact details, line by line, between the <P>
and the </P>
Click File, then Exit
and then click Refresh
on the browser and your edits should appear. You may want to keep
the file you have edited for subsequent use.
