CPM Website |
|
| |
Those of you who have previously
visited the CPM website will have noticed a big difference to the
style, layout and navigation around the site. This has been done
in order to make a clear distinction between Christian Prayer Ministries
as an organisation, and the resources for Christian prayer ministry.
The distinctive
blue bands across the top and down the left of every web page, together
with the drop down menu system, are used solely for Christian Prayer
Ministries as an organisation. For previous users, the more familiar
menu and navigation system remains for the prayer ministry resources;
these can be accessed via the link on the bottom of the welcome
page. These prayer ministry resources are virtually unchanged from
those faithfully developed over a number of years by Lambert Maudsley.
The other
big change is in the name of the site. The site is now accessed
from www.cpm-uk.org. Because of the way website search engines operate,
it will be some time before they all direct enquirers to the new
address. For the foreseeable future the original website name will
remain active and should automatically redirect visitors to this
site.
Comments
and suggestions about the site are always welcome; please feel free
to email me with any comments, concerns or difficulties in using
the site.

Prayer
Ministry Course in Coventry
|
|
| |
Held
at meredith Road Baptist Church, Coventry, over two Saturdays.
Some
of the blessings received by course members:
- So many people praying was a blessing
- Blessed by the preparation and upholding in prayer; really
felt the love of God from the first minute
- Powerful ministry, yet the complete gentleness of all the proceedings
- I felt really blessed to be given the chance to pray for the
people who were being ministered to
- THE LORD SET ME FREE 1111
- God released me from my past and all that has been holding me
back - rejection, curses and poverty!
- I appreciated all of the course, but particularly the feeling
of being cared for and prayed for.
- I was particularly moved by the caring way the lunch was laid
out and served
- A feeling of release to explore the person I really am
- I found the whole course to be truly amazing - I could not fault
any area
- Being released from a past hurt I thought I had dealt with.
I feel a new peace and freedom. PRAISE THE LORD

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA 2004
|
|

|
August
2004 found a small team of 6 from Britain arriving in Cape Town late
in the evening on our 4th visit to this lovely part of the world.
Sadly, Angela Pearn’s baggage didn’t arrive with us. Happily,
her overnight bag did!
Friendly
and familiar faces in the terminal greeted us and we were soon tucked
up in bed and fast asleep ready for whatever was going to happen
the next day.
So what was going to
happen? In the past visits we had been responsible (at least Hugh
and Elizabeth had!) for setting out the timetable and plans only
to find that Plans a,b,c,……m were quickly abolished
in favour of Plan n. THIS time we had left it to our friends in
South Africa to organise for we all felt it was time the ‘British
Colonialists’ took a back seat but be there to support and
encourage the South African team in moving forward in the way the
Lord was leading THEM.
I think we were all
delighted with the outcome. It was clear that the South Africans
KNOW what the ministry is about and are able to both teach and minister.
We spent a couple of evenings helping them to prepare talks and
were moved and thrilled as each in turn stood up and ministered
to those who had come to attend the Course in the second week. They
also took the No. 1 roles while we worked alongside them as their
no. 2’s.
It was a considerable
blessing for the British team to see the ripening fruit of seeds
sown in the past few years.
As usual we were also
blessed by their generous hospitality. Not perhaps by the very wet
weather except for a couple of days when we were taken out to see
the whales of Harmanus and the penguins at Boulder’s Beach
and drive round the beautiful Cape coast.
What of the future?
It looks promising that the South Africans will move forward as
they develop their committee structure and strategy and gain more
experience. I suspect our role now is to give them confidence in
what they clearly are able to do.
When we are no longer
needed, we shall miss them, as they have become good friends and
colleagues.
A good place for a holiday
perhaps?

JULY |

Quiet Day at Inkberrow, Worcestershire
Lambert leaves the Editors chair. |
|
| |
Inkberrow Church Room on
July 3rd.
On a hill top alongside the Church, a place of peace
and quiet with lovely weather over twenty folk gathered for the
day and had time to wander around the surroundings and time to be
alone.
Comments include appreciation of:
Space to reflect.
Variety through the day.
Time to hear what the Lord was saying.
God's peace.
Lots of practical stuff.
Reverence and sensitivity
The breadth of spirituality
Inspirational!
Being much refreshed and encouraged.
God is in control.
Knowing where to put our loved ones,
in the desert if necessary.
To have him remove the burdens and put
on a light yoke.
The joy of being quiet and alone with
God.
The worship.
The Grace done symbolically.
I came with an issue relating to fear, and God
met that.
Space to bring to God the agenda he had previously given
me.
We may only be a little flurry in eternity, but still
visible to God.
I came away more thankful for my senses
and more aware of the peace Jesus can give.in the midst of
noise.
The Lord showed me how tense I was - how to free up -
how to trust and be me.
I can relax to allow God's strength to
enpower me instead of relying on my own strength.
From which we can see
the variety of personal blessings the day brought, and how well
it was led

Lambert leaves the Editors chair, a Red Letter Day.
I write this on 20th July after handing over the running
of this Web Site to Peter du Feu in the presence of a room full
of CPM Executives.
I first heard of the possibility on the phone a few
days before we went on our main holiday to the Lakes, asking for
a hand-over date just after we came back. So the big day arrived
and in due course Peter will have got to grips with operating it
and the handover will be complete.
Any use of the Editor at CPM e-mail will now
automatically go to Peter.
Being fully focussed
as Web Master for the handover meant I switched off from being Editor
just then. That is my excuse for not putting it on the Diary
page, an omission concerning any big or small gathering of CPM members,
an omission which I deplore in others, sorry!
Anyway here is the news about it, so look forward
to some new things, not least because there were only a couple of
pages about CPM 3 years ago and now it is about equal in size to
the Prayer Ministry pages.
The site started as a
personal venture which was offered to CPM when it was inaugurated
in 2001. It thus changed to an organisational site although I offerred
to keep it going for awhile (like a couple of years).
It is time I handed it over and it will be in good hands with Peter.
As of the beginning of June over 1500 visitors opened
the pages in the preceding year. Most recent visitors have come
by a direct use of our address or a link from linked sites such
as Harnhill, some have come through a search engine out of curiosity
but maybe because they haven't discovered how to keep the Web address
handy.
Did you know that for an EASY RETURN to this site: in
Internet Explorer 'Add to Favorites'.
Then take address from Start/Favorites.
As easy as using an e-mail Address
Book for e-mails.
If you are meeting with others
as a CPM group, Peter will be dependant upon you, as I was, for
what appears on these pages and the Diary.
Have you ever looked to see if your 'happening' got a mention here?
Maybe it did, fine if it told you what you wanted to read.
If not, what about seeing if someone could do that for you next
time, or even do it yourself?
We are not fussy where info comes from!
Happy reading in the coming
months.
The Lord bless you with his love and all the fruit of the Spirit.

JUNE |
|
| |
Residential
Weekend near Leamington, Warwickshire.
|
|
| |
Held at Offa
House at Offchurch, near Leamington, from Friday afternoon to Sunday
11th to 13th June, it was a relaxed residential time giving an opportunity
for members and team to meet and to seek God, who was already there
All who came to be blessed
by God went away with his blessing.
This was expressed an many ways:
God is faithful. He is patient even though
we move slowly.
God knows our situations.
Joy, security, feeling free, compassionate,
less egocentric, turning my heart to flesh are among what he has
given to one.
People really listened, not something that happens
very often.
Being part of the prayer support group while
others were in their ministry time was good, as well as the personal
ministry time itself.
I was just amazed at the way God used the ministry
team as channels of his healing and the gentle way He led me to
the core issues.
Plenty of time to talk and be listened to as
well as being prayer for.
Thank you so much for providing this.
Progress into victory in forgiveness in relationships.
Jesus was most definitely there!
My hard stony heart has been replaced, and
God is still working.
Already I find a change in worship, prayer
and fellowship with God.
I feel a more flexible person.
Jesus hugs are more than physical. they go on
through you at the deepest level.
A real sense of God's presence.
At peace, on the road home.
With blessings like this, can
you wonder that some might think it is too good to be true, but
these are their own words. Come and taste for yourself!

An Introductory Day, Coventry
Held in
the Church buildings of St James Styvechale (or Stivichall), the
day started in Church with worship led by one of their Band playing
a guitar.
A good gathering of people from different places heard
talks and had opportunity to interact with the speaker, as well
as in small groups.
In the afternoon there was opportunity to ask for prayer in a group
setting, waiting on the Lord for any word of encouragement or guidance,
Not a course, but covering similar material including
testimonies to God's blessings. The manner of interaction may be
incorporated into future courses, a difference being that on a Day
like this about 15 minutes is the personal time available, whereas
on a Course there is much more time, and hence deeper or more obscure
issues can be dealt with.

Member's Day, South Midlands
This was an
opportunity to get behind the scenes and meet many of the key people
in the Region.
News and information
about the local Regional Planning Team and its operation was given
by each of the Team speaking from the point of view of their involvement.
The activities of the Executive and sub-committees or working
parties on Training and Guidelines for Prayer Ministry Appointments
were described, and the Wandering Apostle role for those not in
close touch with a Regional grouping was mentioned.
Before we stopped
for lunch our aims and attitudes in prayer ministry were the focus
of our consideration, reminding us of some basics such as the need
to listen to Jesus like the first disciples did, and to be open
to the Holy Spirit and his input. On the other hand the due respect
and security appropriate to customer care in a prayer ministry time
was emphasised.
The experience of growing in this ministry was likened to
an apprenticeship pattern, whereby we go on learning for however
long we are in this ministry.
These times included relaxed opportunities for airing views
and concerns and for questions, and that was appreciated.
Lunch was
a good opportunity for fellowship together, although at least one
thought it could have been shorter!
... and perhaps sessions could be shorter. (Mostly 30 to 45 minutes)
But others thought the day could have been longer, perhaps
to include teaching about some aspect of prayer ministry.
We met in a
pleasant room in a good position on the top of a hill overlooking
the countryside, adjacent to the Church at Inkberrow.
The whole day had a feeling of being
relaxed and informal and concluded with a prayer time for each other
and for the future of CPM in the Region.
Perhaps another day like this next year?

Introduction Day, Preston,
Lancashire.
A first for
this area.
We had an excellent day and those who came were interested
and very keen to know more.
They were blessed and knew a real measure of healing - Praise God!
They were all enthusiastic
and wanted the good news to be shared in their respective churches.
So we watch this space and wait and pray!
A friend had
said she couldn't come this time but she wanted to bring a group
from her church in Clitheroe next time!
So the interest does seem to be there! - in this area at last!

Prayer
ministry over two Saturdays in Worcestershire. |
|
| |
Meeting
in Malvern
Beneath the Malvern Hills
a first Saturday for two groups of people, those booked in for Prayer
Ministry the next Saturday and those interested in hearing more
about the ministry just for the day.
Splitting it into two separate Saturdays made it possible for some
to come who otherwise could not have done so.
The second Saturday was longer and we had a hot
mid-day meal provided by voluntary talent which was much appreciated,
some would have liked to linger longer over that!
The second Saturday turned out to be for
those who could make it over the flood waters of the Severn river
and were not cut off by rising water. (Both Worcester bridges
and some roads passable, some not.)
We hope those cut off will make it another time!
Comments afterwards
included - for the first day:
Visual aids very helpful.
A mixture of speakers helpful.
Comment from the
ministry day:
Just what I needed, released from bitterness.
So blessed, so sensitive.
The group prayer support time was a valuable experience.
The Lord's timing is amazing.
It answered my needs.
The gentleness of the unrushed ministry.
The prayer support group with God giving pieces
of a jigsaw building up to a total picture was fascinating.
Where did the time go? (After a 3 hour ministry time).
I feel so blessed with so many giving
prayer support.
Words from the prayer support group were amazingly
in tune with what was given in the ministry.
I came seeking more of the Father's love
and was set free from a religious spirit and jealousy.
