CPM organises and runs a training programme
for members of the organisation, which leads to accreditation as
a Prayer Minister. This accreditation acknowledges completion of
the training programme and the gaining of the required experience
to be competent to conduct a Prayer Ministry Appointment, either
on a Prayer Ministry Course or in a local situation.
The training programme consists of a series of stages, all of which
must be completed.
STAGE ONE
Attendance at two Prayer Ministry Courses. These courses are aimed
at personal Prayer Ministry. The basic concepts of Prayer Ministry
are taught, and those who feel called into this Ministry will be
able to gain an insight into the workings of the Ministry.
STAGE TWO
Attendance at a Training Course One.
Prior to attendance at this course candidates must:
- Undergo a regional assessment as to verify
gifting and calling as a Prayer Minister.
- Gain local experience as a "backup" (see Stage
Three (1) below) at three Prayer Ministry Appointments
The aim of the Training Course One is to
teach the basics principles and practice of Prayer Ministry using
the insights of Christian Prayer Ministries. Following attendance
at the Training Course One, experience as a support Prayer Minister
during at least two Prayer Ministry Appointments must be obtained.
On satisfactory completion of this, the National Committee may grant
a certificate of recognition as a Support Prayer Minister.
STAGE THREE
Attendance at a Training Course Two.
Prior to attendance at this course candidates must:-
- Gain further experience during at least
ten Prayer Ministry Appointments, the majority of which will be
during CPM Prayer Ministry courses; all must be with a CPM Accredited
Prayer Minister. A record must be kept of these appointments and
each one must be "signed off" by the Accredited Prayer Minister.
- The record of Prayer Ministry experience
must be presented for scrutiny before acceptance onto the Training
Course Two.
The aim of the Training Course Two, is
to revise the teaching of the Training Course One. In addition it
will include an assessment of competence to lead a Prayer Ministry
Appointment.
On satisfactory completion of the Training Course Two as agreed
by the course team, the National Executive Committee of Christian
Prayer Ministries may grant Accreditation as a Prayer Minister.
Accreditation is retained by Prayer Ministers, subject to compliance
with the CPM Code of Ethics and Practice.
