West Midlands is one of the founding Regions of CPM, having been legally adopted in 2005 under the terms of the Constitution. Members in the West Midlands played a significant part in the initial setting up of Christian Prayer Ministries. Geographical Boundaries West Midlands Region comprises West Midlands County, Staffordshire and the Black Country. Regional Committee In July 2005, West Midlands Region held its first election to form a Regional Committee as required under the constitution. Once formed, the Committee elected Christine Syner as the Administrator for the Region. The current committee members are Lynne Boden, Pauline Hart, Barbara Loveys, Elizabeth Baker, Christine Syner, Hilda Hollinshead, John Bedford, Hugh Baker and Jennifer Nevill. The Committee meets regularly to plan Regional events and seek the will of God for the Region. Regional Representatives In 2005, the Members in the Region also elected Hugh Baker and Christine Syner to serve as Regional Representatives on the Executive Committee, which meets six times per year. Regional Activity The Region holds two teaching days a year, inviting speakers to broaden members understanding of Prayer Ministry. The West Midlands Region also joins with the two other Midland Regions to share a time of teaching and fellowship. In 2008 it is the turn of East Midlands Region to host this event. West Midlands Region also holds a monthly Prayer Meeting in Stafford, to pray for the needs of the Ministry. This Prayer Meeting is open to all friends of CPM to attend. Prayer Ministry Courses West Midlands courses have traditionally been held over two evenings and a full Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday evenings are used to provide the teaching and the following Saturday is a full day of Ministry. In 2008, for the first time in many years, the Region held a Residential Course at Shallowford House near Stafford. This course ran from Thursday evening until Sunday lunchtime. Introductory days are held at various times across the Region at the invitation of local churches. CPM Accredited Prayer Ministers also minister in their local churches. Applications are now being received for the residential course at Shallowford House near Stafford, to take place November 26-29, 2009. As places are limited, early application is recommended. Training Members within the Region feeling called by God to this Ministry are given the opportunity to test this call by attending one of the National Training courses conducted by CPM. Five of the members of West Midlands Region have just completed Training Course 1, and are now working towards full Accreditation,which will include attendance at a Training Course 2, as well as gaining the necessary experience. Six others are starting their training by assisting as Back-ups in Prayer Ministry Appointments. West Midlands Region has a core of Accredited Prayer Ministers available to Minister in the Regional Courses, and are sometimes called to help in other Regions. All Members in the Region are encouraged to receive further teaching.  Top
